Note. The last image illustrating this fox mask shows it held in an original vice from the workshops of Peter Spicer & Sons. The vice is now in my workshop and being used in exactly the same way.
This vice came from Peter Spicer’s old workshop in New St, Royal Leamington Spa which I purchased in 2000. There were two of these vices, which can be seen illustrated on page 94 of my book ‘A Record of Spicer’s’ and on page 99 the vice can again be seen securing a otter mask with Mr F. W. Robottom in the foreground taking stock. It’s a sad photo taken the day that Spicer’s finally closed down in 1959. Fred had joined the firm in 1901. Please note the vice is not for sale just the fox mask.
