This charming and well executed case of taxidermy with its painted back drop, is unlabelled. However, it shows similarities in style to both Thomas Salkeld & Murray of Carnforth, who both produced work with well executed painted backdrops, that often depict mountainous scenes so typical of the Lake district, that was there home. The back drop in this particular case being a fine example, painted in oils, on a traditional canvas. Circa 1910.
